Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson violated rules, steered scholarships to relatives

Longtime Dallas congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson has awarded thousands of dollars in college scholarships to four relatives and a top aide’s two children since 2005, using foundation funds set aside for black lawmakers’ causes.

The recipients were ineligible under anti-nepotism rules of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, which provided the money. And all of the awards violated a foundation requirement that scholarship winners live or study in a caucus member’s district.

Johnson, a Democrat, denied any favoritism when asked about the scholarships last week. Two days later, she acknowledged in a statement released by her office that she had violated the rules but said she had done so “unknowingly” and would work with the foundation to “rectify the financial situation.”

Initially, she said, “I recognized the names when I saw them. And I knew that they had a need just like any other kid that would apply for one.” Had there been more “very worthy applicants in my district,” she added, “then I probably wouldn’t have given it” to the relatives.

Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson violated rules, steered scholarships to relatives

I don’t like Eddie Bernice Johnson, and I know there are a few that are going to say, “Well that’s because TexasFred is a racist and a bigot.” Nothing could be further from the truth.

I don’t like crooked politics and I despise crooked politicians. That is the truth of the matter.

I have hammered about crooked politicians, and accusations against politicians, even politicians I happen to personally like. I don’t cut them ANY slack!

I went off on this; Voter Registration Fraud Uncovered and pointed out the suspicious fire that followed the alleged fraud. I regularly take on the Obama administration and their way of raping America; People Have Noticed.

Recently, we have seen this; Ethics Inquiry of Rangel Finds Evidence of Violations and this; Rep. Maxine Waters to face ethics charges.

I even weighed in on a gentleman that I have known for a long time and recently got to meet in person, and happen to actually like, Rep. Joe Driver (TX-113); State Rep. Joe Driver of Garland double-billed for travel.

I talked with Joe Driver by phone on Thursday morning. He called regarding
The Rowlett TEA Party Candidates Forum that we are sponsoring on Sept. 25th, and in talking I told him, straight up, how I feel about these accusations that have been leveled against him, and I referenced back to the Tom DeLay campaign finance investigation and the words I said to and about Mr. DeLay.

I told Tom DeLay this; “If they can prove you guilty of intentional misdeeds, you need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. If they can’t prove you guilty, they need to leave you the hell alone and let you get on with your life.?

Joe Driver took those words in the spirit in which they were meant. Mr. Driver may have made a mistake, but he is a man of principle. Joe Driver even agreed with that take on matters and the prosecution of crimes.

Apparently, Mr. DeLay didn’t.

A while back DeLay had a link to my blog on his page. It seems they really liked my no nonsense approach and highly un-PC way of getting to the heart of the matter. Until it came to speaking out about Mr. DeLay himself. After I said those words to Mr. DeLay, they dropped the link to my blog and banned me from their site.

I guess the truth hurts sometimes.

As I said to Mr. DeLay and Mr. Driver, I say again to Eddie Bernice Johnson, Charles Rangel, Maxine Waters, and any other person that’s in public office, “If they can prove you guilty of intentional misdeeds, you need to be punished to the fullest extent of the law. If they can’t prove you guilty, they need to leave you the hell alone and let you get on with your life.?

I don’t care what color they are, I don’t care which political party they belong to, if they are, in fact, crooks, take them OUT and make graphic examples of them and highly publicize their punishment.

Anyone can make a mistake, but an elected official that intentionally breaks the public trust is, in MY not so humble opinion, the lowest form of humanity on the face of the earth!

And there’s one other thing I feel I MUST address here, the very top paragraph of the original story, which says;

Longtime Dallas congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson has awarded thousands of dollars in college scholarships to four relatives and a top aide’s two children since 2005, using foundation funds set aside for black lawmakers’ causes.

Johnson used foundation funds that were set aside for black lawmakers’ causes?

What would a WHITE lawmaker be called if there was indeed a fund set up specifically for WHITE lawmaker causes?

Let me think a minute… Hmmm

You have the United Negro College Fund, Hispanic History Month, Martin Luther King Day, Asian History Month, Black Entertainment Television, Black History Month, Cesar Chavez Day, Kwanzaa and the NAACP.

If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we’d be called racists.

If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.

If we had a White History Month, we’d be called racist for that.

If we had any organization for Whites Only to ‘advance’ OUR lives, we’d certainly be branded as racists.

There is a Congressional Black Caucus. Why isn’t there a Congressional WHITE Caucus? Oh, that’s right, it would be RACIST!

There’s a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a Black Chamber of Commerce.

Then we have the Chamber of Commerce, not a White Chamber of Commerce, just The Chamber of Commerce.

If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships, you know we’d be called evil racists.

There are openly-proclaimed Black-Only Colleges in the US, yet if there were ‘White-Only Colleges’, why THAT would be a racist college.

In the Million-Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights.

If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us redneck racists.

You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and red, and you’re not afraid to announce it.

But when we announce our white pride, yeah, you got it, we get called racists, NAZIs and a lot worse.

Why is it that only whites can be racists? And just WHO are the real racists?

Maybe Eddie Bernice Johnson, the NAACP, The Congressional Black Caucus, The Black Chamber and many more BLACK organizations can answer that one for us.

But I seriously doubt it.

You nailed it just right Fred. We have let them get away with this “racist” sh*t long enough. I am sick and tired of the PC racist attitudes that these black robed scumbags have hung around our necks, because of stupid race baiters like jackson, sharpton, calypso louie, and revrum wright, who have made tons of money preaching their hate speech. Well f*ck them and the goats they rode in on. I don’t have to like any of them anymore than they have to like me. If the law demands/wants equality for all lets start with sports as a good beginning point and move on from there.

Fred, I can tell you one thing. If you are a gov’t employee and you are looking to go back to school and you state to a friend in front of another fellow employee that you wish “there was a white male scholarship fund”…you will find yourself under investigation, lose, and forever be documented as a racist. This I know for a fact.

…Oh, and you will forever be denied access to another gov’t job ever again, despite your incredible service record, countless commendations and awards, graduation with a doctorate with a high GPA, volunteer record with multiple organizations (including for minorities and blacks), and the recommendation of those in high esteem that you would be perfect for the position sought. I have even had this investigation reviewed by the replacing investigator after the first one who declared me guilty was only months later, dismissed due to drug use and lying to his superiors and attempts to cover up a DEA investigation in which he was involved, and the new investigator cleared me of racial harassment. However, this racist stain has all but completely destroyed my good name and forever blacklisted me from any gov’t employ. And all because I wanted a “white male scholarship fund”.

I think the problem isn’t the color of the corruption, its the corruption with the color. When you give so much to be so PC the recipients of the “gifts” keep wanting more and feel they can always fall back on the “Racist” labeling.

White folks have done stupid stuff, several with the “R” in front. Here lately, since the D’s are in charge they are being placed under the same microscope that the R’s were put under when they ran things… They don’t like it at all.

SDKAR, that’s FKD up…IS there no lawyer or any recourse for you?

That’s because all you white bastards are ALREADY in POWER. You don’t need any of that because you’ve been stealing rights and keeping the Melanin Man down from day one.

Never mind that BLACK ON BLACK CRIME is geometrically worse than cross-race — of ANY race. Never mind that the current young black male mindset is one of cultural defeat and permanent insignificance, culturally enforced by death and injury from and by themselves.

I watch this every day at work and surrounding my wife’s home in Ghetto Central in Fornicalia.

Let me write what TexasFred and many others know and write: no one will respect or want to assist young black males — or even the bulk of blacks themselves — until they themselves prove that they are worthy of support. And that includes aspirations of progress and forward thinking to include education, consideration for others, kindness, a willingness to reject violence, to embrace building, assimilation, to get involved with their country and work for EVERYone, not just themselves.

But I don’t see that coming. All I hear and read is more of the same from the Poverty Pimps, Welfare Pimps and Racial Pimps to include the likes of Sharpton, Waters, Jackson, et al. Aided and abetted by GOWPs. These people don’t want racial equality; they want racial DIVISION because it keeps them in POWER and it keeps them in tune-ups for their Porsches and Rollers. And THAT is self-sustaining DEFEATISM.

Now, how does one go about educating any blacks??
    Where do you start?
Can it be possible that genes play a large roll in this quandary?
The high school drop out is what, 50%.
Throwing money at this problem has only got this problem worse!
What is the percentage of blacks that cannot, will not, want to take the time and effort to go through this education process?

How about South Africa, and their “continuing” problem in trying to educate their black citizens. Not good.

So, where will this conundrum take the USA?

I am an “old fart” now.
I’ve already contributed body parts to this race “problem”.
My compassion level for the above “problem” is almost empty.
I will vote my feelings, and at the same time I am always aware of my surroundings, only travel where safe passage is known and enforced.

I’m sick and tired of these politicians who say they violated the rules unknowingly. Why are they trying to kid? These clowns have staff that check everything out for them. This staff gets paid good money to ensure everything is done properly. If a congressman violates the rules, they either did it knowingly or their staff lied to them. As of yet, I’ve never heard a congressman blame their violations on their staff.

    Well damn Fred…

This is writing of the type that made you a force to be reckoned with. Great work, and I sincerely hope that it get’s noticed.

I couldn’t agree more with your conclusions. Not to mention that when all the racism comments, and threats too; Were being thrown your way? None, not a one of the accusers had bothered to look at your sidebar, and just who you were supporting.

Keep writing like that and we will have to start paying to read your work! :)
