Illegal Texan of the Year? Dallas paper says yes

December 30th, 2007 . by TexasFred

DALLAS (AP) – Because everybody in Texas “has felt the tidal wave of his presence,” the illegal immigrant has been named the Texan of the Year by The Dallas Morning News.

“We can’t seem to live with him and his family, and if we can live without him, nobody’s figured out how,” the story posted on The Dallas Morning News Web site on Saturday said.

The newspaper identified illegal immigration as perhaps the largest story in the nation and in the state in 2007. Texas’ immigrant population has increased by nearly 33 percent since 2000, according to an analysis of government data by the Washington-based Center for Immigration Studies.

In that period, the number of total immigrants entering the country has exceeded all previous historical eras. Half the immigrants in Texas – about 7 percent of all Texans – are here illegally.

“The illegal immigrant is the waiter serving margaritas at our restaurant table, the cook preparing our enchiladas,” the story said. “He works grueling hours at a meatpacking plant, carving up carcasses of cattle for our barbecue (he also picks the lettuce for our burgers). He builds our houses and cuts our grass. She cleans our homes and takes care of our children.”

The Dallas Morning News just lost a subscriber, my wife has been a reader for many years and she just dumped em…

As anyone that has ever read here knows, I have nothing against ANY man or woman making a living in the USA, but do it legally, I have NO use for the wetback ILLEGALS that the DMN appears to think so much of…

As a resident of Texas, a LEGAL one, I see the jobs that the ILLEGALS do, and yeah, they work, and for the most part, they are hard workers but here’s the bottom line, they are here ILLEGALLY, and that is the part of the equation that must be rectified…

And now we don’t have ANY Presidential candidate that will take a HARD stand against this ILLEGAL invasion, Tancredo dropped out and endorsed Romney, a move that made me lose ALL respect for Tancredo, Thompson is on the verge of imploding, I wonder if that implosion will be as lazy as the rest of his campaign, NONE of the rest, from either side, are willing to take a stand, a really TOUGH, NO B.S. stand against the wetback invasion, they are afraid the may offend some Hispanic voters, those that are here legally…

What NONE of them realize is this, the Hispanic folks that are here in the USA legally, and the ones that have become citizens, they hate the wetback invasion as much as anyone…

To name ILLEGALS as ‘Texans of the Year’ is nothing less than a travesty on the part of the DMN, and I hope any and all subscribers to that RAG will follow our lead and immediately cancel your subscription to them, nothing gets attention as quickly as a monetary hit, and in MY opinion, this calls for a hit so tremendous that it may well bankrupt the DMN, and letters to the editor would also be a nice touch as well…

Low Flame In Fred Thompson’s Belly?

December 30th, 2007 . by TexasFred

(AP) Fred Thompson says he’s not consumed with winning the White House and that a president with too much fire in the belly is not necessarily a good thing in a dangerous world.

“I am not consumed by personal ambition,” Thompson said Saturday. “I will not be devastated if I don’t do it. I’m not particularly interested in running for president but I think I would make a good president.” He said others encouraged him to run and he decided it was the right thing to do.

[In an appearance Sunday on CNN, Thompson complained that the "not particularly interested" quote had been taken out of context.]

“I like to say that I’m only consumed by very, very few things and politics is not one of them,” Thompson said at a town hall meeting in Burlington, Iowa.

Thompson said some candidates have become too absorbed by the process and have lost sight of the ultimate need to serve the country.

“Nowadays, it’s all about fire in the belly,” he said. “I’m not sure in the world we live in today it’s a terribly good thing that a president has too much fire in his belly.”

And this Ladies and Gentlemen is exactly WHY I dropped my support of Fred D. Thompson, he is NOT committed and he’s about as exciting as watching paint dry…

Yes, he does have some good ideas, if you can stay awake long enough to hear them, and the all around boredom has given Thompsons campaign a serious kick, to the curb…

Protesters Could Disrupt Rose Parade

December 29th, 2007 . by TexasFred

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - There could be some discord during the Tournament of Roses Parade as demonstrators promise to raise issues during the holiday spectacle that has been going on for more than a century. Human rights advocates plan to protest a float honoring the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and anti-war activists, including “Peace Mom” Cindy Sheehan, intend to rally for peace.

The theme of this year’s New Year’s Day parade is “Passport to the World’s Celebrations.” It will feature 46 floats, 21 marching bands and 18 equestrian units.

Volunteers have busy in Pasadena and nearby areas this past week decorating the floats with buckets of flowers and seeds.

“It’s such a great feeling, to see the float on TV and have people say ‘You worked on that float, that was so cool, that was so neat.’ It makes all the hassle and everything we go through worthwhile,” said Moreno Valley resident Linda Priest, 49, assistant crew chief on Honda’s “Passport to the Future” float.

Sure would be a shame if ‘Mother Sheehan’ accidentally stepped into the blind spot of the float driver and was run over and dragged for several blocks before anyone noticed…

I wonder if Pasadena would erupt in violence if Sheehan was run over and killed during a protest??

She has moonbat followers everywhere, you never know, they may get violent if their leader was dragged down, so to speak… :?

On the 4th day of Kwanzaa, New Orleans gave to me…

December 29th, 2007 . by TexasFred

In the first murder reported in the French Quarter this year, the bludgeoned body of a 25-year-old woman was found early Friday underneath a wharf along the French Quarter riverfront, police said.

A 30-year-old man was arrested Friday evening and booked with first-degree murder in the beating death.

Shortly before 4 a.m., a homeless man alerted authorities to the woman’s body, which was discovered amid refuse under the Toulouse Street Wharf, according to a New Orleans Police news release.

She was later identified as Elizabeth Chapman, 25, of Vacherie, according to John Gagliano, chief investigator for the Orleans Parish Coroner’s office.

Chapman was beaten to death, he said.

On the 4th day of Kwanzaa New Orleans gave to me:

An astonishingly quick arrest, would it be out of line to say, GOOD JOB NOPD??

If this is the right guy, NOPD was really quick to make a capture, and as much grief as they get for NOT always getting the job done, maybe this time they need to be congratulated, just sayin’…
