Election spurs ‘hundreds’ of race threats, crimes

Cross burnings. Schoolchildren chanting “Assassinate Obama.” Black figures hung from nooses. Racial epithets scrawled on homes and cars.

Incidents around the country referring to President-elect Barack Obama are dampening the postelection glow of racial progress and harmony, highlighting the stubborn racism that remains in America.

From California to Maine, police have documented a range of alleged crimes, from vandalism and vague threats to at least one physical attack. Insults and taunts have been delivered by adults, college students and second-graders.

There have been “hundreds” of incidents since the election, many more than usual, said Mark Potok, director of the Intelligence Project at the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors hate crimes.

Well, they wanted *change*, they are getting change. People that are normally peaceful are taking up the ways of times long past. And now you have to wonder, WHY?

Grant Griffin, a 46-year-old white Georgia native, expressed similar sentiments: “I believe our nation is ruined and has been for several decades and the election of Obama is merely the culmination of the change.

“If you had real change it would involve all the members of (Obama’s) church being deported,” he said.

That pretty much sums it up for most folks that didn’t support Obama. No one has a hell of a lot of faith in him. I fully expect him to make an effort to go after guns, I honestly believe he will. I also believe that he will, with the full support of a Democratic controlled and RINO supported House and Senate, open this nation up to any and all that wish to invade her, making them legal citizens almost as soon as their feet make landfall. He will likely start with his own family.

BOSTON — Zeituni Onyango came to the United States seeking asylum from her native Kenya but was turned down and ordered to leave the country in 2004.

Four years later, she is still here. And her nephew is about to become president of the United States.

Maybe I’m wrong, I hope I am, but I fear that Obama is bringing more division to this nation, and presents more danger to this nation than any president in U.S. history, and he’s not even sworn in yet! The WORST is yet to come!

Nothing has ever been satisfactorily explained concerning Obama’s Kenyan family, their statements claiming that Obama is a born Muslim, and the very fact that regardless of Obama’s birthright, he IS half Black, that is a cause of great consternation for about HALF of this nation and it’s LEGAL citizens.

In The Talking Heads song, “Burning Down The House” written by David Byrne, one line goes: “Watch out, you might get what you’re after.”

In my opinion that fully applies to Barack Hussein Obama. I believe he wanted the presidency desperately without much of any kind of realistic clue as to what the job truly entails. I believe the clouds are beginning to part for him and he’s beginning to wonder just what it is that he’s gotten himself in for.

In the meantime, I can hear the sound of our enemies, domestic and foreign, sharpening their knives.

Not to mention the hundreds of Gays marching through the streets demanding to be married.

Katie, strange you should mention that…

1,200 protest California’s Proposition 8 at Dallas City Hall

The faggots are marching all over, and it’s because they KNOW that they are about to have a FRIEND in the Oval office…

And the goofy cocksuckers are protesting a California LAW in Texas, at Dallas City Hall, that makes a lotta sense huh?? Why don’t the sick pervs pack up and go to California and protest??

i believe anyone racism is wrong, either against Whites or Blacks - and there is plenty of it against Whites. Whether White or Black, involving children as in the story above, is really a sad thing to do to children. School children chanting “Assissinate Obama” - I’d slap my child from here to there for doing such. Ignorant, ignorant parents. None of us need this in our lives.

I personally do not care that Barack Obama is Black. i deeply care that he may not be natural-born and I abhor his policies and almost all of the background we know about. Think about this: we elect Thomas Sowell or Clarence Thomas. The scenario would be the same - Blacks would want him dead. Any White supporting him, especially in the South, would be excoriated. Go to the South side of Chicago, for instance, and they hate you with every fiber of their being for being White. I can imagine what the school children are chanting there.

I have a life-style bias. If you live in a dangerous or bad part of town, I probably will not hire you for my business. I don’t like your associations, or the fact that you have refused to leave that environment. I don’t care whether you are Black or White. If you speak English well, and live in a half-way decent area and spend your spare time doing something constructive, and you are raising your chidren responsibly, I’ll probably hire you. Butcher the English language - you’re not working for me.

How can America and Americans win? Based on Blacks that are Black-enough but really White (Obama) and Blacks that are actually Black being hated by the Blacks…can we ever have a concensus? No. I will never vote for a Democrat - White or Black. I will definitely vote for a Black Republican if I think he/she is the best person for the job.

I just heard tonight that Obama has more threats on his life than any other President in our history. I do not believe this for a minute. The Left wants to spin it because it makes the world sympathetic to him, and makes Whites look bad. We went through all the many months of elections, including election night with no real violence (some in Philadelphia) - it was Sarah Palin hung in effigy, not Obama.. At some point, maybe he will have more threats on his life than any other President, but I don’t think that day has come.

    Hmmmmm,well I strayed off topic a bit but I feel better :-)

The article says, “Emotions are often raw after a hard-fought political campaign, but now those on the losing side have an easy target for their anger.”

The problem is “Emotions are often raw after a hard-fought political campaign, but now those on the WINNING side have an NOT SO easy target for their anger.

I am in the firearms business and business is booming (no pun intended). I am sold out of semi-automatic .223 and .308 calibers and semi-automatic 12 gauge shotguns. Problem is…I’m a really small dealer and had little stock on hand. I have customers who are banging on the door wanting to buy an AR but ALL of my wholesale distributors are sold out! I am also sold out of AKs. Ammunition is also flying off of the shelves.

I have been asking my customers “Why do you want an AR15 or M1A?” Almost universally, the response is “Just in case!”. This country is arming itself as never before. It makes the buying craze over the millennium look like a garage sale. I’m 67 years old and have never seen anything like it.

By now, I am sure that the Governmental powers that be have taken notice and are viewing this civilian rush to arms very seriously…and I worry that their interest could have far reaching consequences…none of them good for gun owners, firearms dealers, or the Country in general.

I have no doubt that President-elect Obama and his henchmen are also watching this trend very closely. I believe that one of the first things he will do will be to suppress firearms and ammunition ownership by issuing draconian controls by Executive Order, under the guise of a too-well armed citizenry being a threat to national security.

    God Help (not Damn) America!

    benmoshe:

You aren’t kidding! I witnessed it tonight. Hubby & I have armed up too. I bought myself a sweet little 38 special revolver with a laser sight that will live nicely in my purse. I’ve never packed before in public even though we’ve been through the concealed weapons classes years ago. My business though is in the industrial side of town. With the time change I leave a spooky area in the dark alone quite a bit.

We just happen to listen to a police scanner all day at work…just a dumb hobby we all like…and I’m seeing a real up-turn of folks going a little more nuts lately. Crime is on the rise, suicides are up, domestic violence is up, and folks are drinking heavier too. The scanner’s been really hopping since election day.

I left all the guns behind when I left Texas years ago…they mostly belonged to the men anyway…I just shot ‘em with the guys. We had a 380 here at the house, but since the election we’ve picked up two shotguns & went shopping again tonight.

Hubby bought a sweet “The Judge” pistol revolver. Shoots 45 longs & 410 shotgun shells all in the same revolver…you can alternate the slugs or pack ‘em all the same. We’re in NV…that gun is illegal in CA. It was CRAZINESS I TELL YOU! I’ve never seen anything like it either. The line at the gun counters at our Cabella’s store was LONG…mostly all couples too…most older than me at 45. Most folks were just like us, buying 2, three or more guns.

There must have been 10 other couples in line behind us and a few single stragglers waiting even further behind and they had 4 guys running the counters all with customers. Damnest thing I’ve ever seen in Reno.

I’ve been around guns all my life. My Daddy bent on his hands & knees when I was a little tike so I could balance the barrel of the rifle on his shoulder when he tought me how to shoot. Our Daddy’s & Uncles had us trained early…we had a lot of varmint issues though…skunks, rattlesnakes, coyotes & such.

I have a level head. I don’t think I’d ever use a gun unwisely, but rest assured some deserving bastard would get all 5 of my slugs without me ever losing a night’s sleep if necessary.

But…as we were in that line at Cabellas listening to others’ conversation…I told Hubby…”Damn honey…the whole damn city is going to be armed for bear and most of these folks never even ’seen a gun before.” I agree with the concept of armament…but it un-nerves me a bit to know that in my city of 500,000 folks…the masses are packing now. I hope we don’t see a rise of stupidity and some unnecessary shootings because folks’ nerves are all shaken.

We have a new Scheel’s here too, and MANY other sporting goods stores, local guys like you, etc. EVERYBODY is reporting the same…record sales and frenzied attitudes. In NV, if you get to the store prior to 6pm and your background check (ran on a computer) checks out…you can take your toys home same day! Scary shit…but as for me and my household…we’re armed up now…just in case.

Well done Malinda. As for your concerns? That is why the NRA and similar organizations are needed. Also, being in Nevada, you are just a hop, not even a skip and jump, away from what is probably the best training available. Check out Front Sight Training. I recommend them to everyone all the time.

There is also a new blog, usasurvivor that just published an article having to do with this very subject. You might want to check it out.
