A candidate with no cash, cell phone, computer

MANNING, S.C. - Alvin M. Greene never gave a speech during his campaign to become this state’s Democratic nominee for Senate. He didn’t start a Web site or hire consultants or plant lawn signs. There’s only $114 in his campaign bank account, he says, and the only check he ever wrote from it was to cover his filing fee.

Indeed, in a three-hour interview, the unemployed military veteran could not name a single specific thing he’d done to campaign. Yet more than 100,000 South Carolinians voted for him on Tuesday, handing him nearly 60 percent of the vote and a resounding victory over Vic Rawl, a former judge who has served four terms in the state legislature.

“I’m the Democratic Party nominee,” Greene says in the interview at his father’s home on a lonely stretch of rural highway in central South Carolina. “The people have spoken. The people of South Carolina have spoken. The people of South Carolina have spoken. We have to be pro-South Carolina. The people of South Carolina have spoken. We have to be pro-South Carolina.”

Things have gotten even stranger since Greene’s win. First, the Associated Press reported that he faces felony obscenity charges for allegedly showing pornography to a University of South Carolina student last November. Greene says he’s not guilty. Then the state’s Democratic Party chairman called on him to withdraw from the general election. House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.) — who has questioned whether Republicans may have planted Greene in the race — is calling for federal and state investigations. A spokesman for Republican Sen. Jim DeMint (S.C.) called that notion “ridiculous,” and Greene dismisses suggestions that he is anyone’s pawn.

I detest Keith Olbermann. I make NO secret of that fact. I know that many, if not ALL of my readers feel the same way. But I have to ask you, listen to this YouTube. Olbermann is his usual arrogant douchebag self, but this time he may have actually done a better job of reporting than we have ever seen him do. Even a blind hog finds an acorn now and then.

Alvin Greene. Well spoken, articulate and a well read individual. UhHuh. And I’m going to win a Pulitzer Prize for my blogging soon. :P

Alvin Greene is a stooge for someone.

We all know that Democratic voters are not noted for their massive intelligence and deep thought process, but even the Dems of South Carolina can’t be this stupid! Can they?

As was pointed out in a post over by my buddy, Angry White Dude:

You’ve heard of Yellow Dog Democrats? I think black people should be called Black Dog Democrats. They’d vote for a dog..as long as it was black! My prediction is Alvin Greene will carry 91+ percent of the black vote in South Carolina in November.

But not so fast writing Alvin Greene off! The last time a young, unknown black man with zero credentials or experience ran he was elected President of the United States! Hope and Change, baby! SOURCE

AWD may be onto something here, but I just don’t know. Barack Hussein Obama is a terrible public speaker when he has to rely on his natural speaking ability. He can read the hell out of a teleprompter, but he stutters his way through face to face interaction.

Thousands march to US Capitol to protest spending

WASHINGTON (AP) - Thousands of people marched to the U.S. Capitol on Saturday, carrying signs with slogans such as “Obamacare makes me sick” as they protested the president’s health care plan and what they say is out-of-control spending.

The line of protesters spread across Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency. People were chanting “enough, enough” and “We the People.” Others yelled “You lie, you lie!” and “Pelosi has to go,” referring to California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.

Demonstrators waved U.S. flags and held signs reading “Go Green Recycle Congress” and “I’m Not Your ATM.” Men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of “judgment day” - Election Day 2010.

Richard Brigle, 57, a Vietnam War veteran and former Teamster, came from Paw Paw, Mich. He said health care needs to be reformed - but not according to President Barack Obama’s plan.

Now, all that needs to be done is for the LEADERS of this to actually BE leaders. Don’t let a petty few disrupt this effort. Don’t let a petty few pout because you invited REAL Conservatives to speak at your rallies. Don’t let the pouting process ruin your group.

Mike Pence from the 6th Congressional District of Indiana, and Jim DeMint, Republican Senator from South Carolina are in Washington, at the 912 Rally, and they have been WELL received.

Don’t let gutless leaders take this organization down. Don’t let the ‘busy bodies’ take this organization down. As Glenn Beck said today, “We don’t need to rebuild America, we must RESTORE America.” and that my friends, is the full truth of the matter!
