In Texas, a showdown at GOP corral

In Texas, a showdown at GOP corral

AUSTIN, Texas - Rick Perry, the state’s swashbuckling Republican governor, says his opponent spends tax dollars too freely. She’s too liberal. She’s too Washington. She doesn’t get what he calls “Texas values.”

One might imagine Perry’s opponent to be a Democrat, but she is Kay Bailey Hutchison, a Texas Republican born, bred and elected, serving her third term casting reliably conservative votes as a U.S. senator.

Hutchison’s decision to chase her long-held dream of becoming governor, and Perry’s refusal to yield, have created a messy battle for Republican votes in a state where GOP primaries were generally considered tea parties in the era before “tea party” took on a different meaning.

Perry is leading in the polls as Hutchison, often pinned in Washington because of the health-care debate, struggles to find a clear message and a compelling purpose for her campaign. With the primary scheduled March 2, she has money and history but only about 11 weeks to make her case.

Reliably conservative votes? Uh, lets take a look at that before it’s taken as the truth…

The 1st piece of evidence I am going to post is this: Kay Bailey Hutchison admits to mistake supporting bank bailout. Hutchison DID vote for the 1st bailout, the BUSH Bailout, and she has been soundly taken to task over it. So, what does she do? Political spin and deflection, oh, and blame HER vote on Rick Perry.

Then there was this little gem: Hutchison irks right by including gay judge as U.S. attorney pick. Kay, can you really say that was a Conservative move? A homosexual judge? For crying out loud, that’s a play right out of the DNC playbook!

And who can forget this one? Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison is CAGW’s October Porker of the Month. I know Kay may want us to forget it, but it’s just NOT going to happen. I made a vow to blast Kay *Bailout* Hutchison at every opportunity, this is one OF those opportunities!

Kay gets accused of being too Washington and it’s said that she just doesn’t get “Texas values.”? Well, how about this? Hutchison ‘pleased’ to have Cheney endorsement. Kay IS a Washington insider, by every definition of the word. She knows that even if she weren’t coming home to run for Texas Governor, she was going to face some serious threats in 2010 because of her less than stellar performance of late.

“But how can you say Miss Kay has been ‘less than stellar’ TexasFred?” you ask. “This article says she is serving her third term casting reliably conservative votes as a U.S. senator.”

Well, if the above isn’t enough to convince you that Kay isn’t all that she’s cracked up to be, hang on to your Stetson, I have more for you!

Miss Kay bailed out on the vote to defund ACORN. Sen. Kay *Bailout* Hutchison bails out on defunding ACORN. In all fairness, her vote wasn’t needed for this to pass, it carried by a huge majority, but it would have been nice for her to take a HARD stand against ACORN and it’s #1 supporter, Barack Hussein Obama!

Check it out. This link goes back to the Bush Bailout, and Kay was all over it. Congress OKs historic bailout bill

Kay Bailey Hutchison admits to mistake supporting bank bailout

Kay Bailey Hutchison admits to mistake supporting bank bailout

Kay Bailey Hutchison said Wednesday that she made a mistake by supporting the initial $700 billion bailout of the nation’s financial industry and would change her vote if she had the chance.

Hutchison said the implementation of the Troubled Asset Relief Program was flawed and the money wasn’t being used by banks to lend money to small businesses and prospective homebuyers.

“If I had known how TARP would be spent, I would take it back in a heartbeat,” the senator said during a taping of WFAA’s *Channel 8* Inside Texas Politics. “They spent money not on helping the housing industry, which was the problem, and helping the financial institutions lend money. Financial institutions today are not lending money to help small business get up and going.”

The show airs at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Let me think for a minute. Where have we heard something eerily similar recently? Well, maybe not THAT recently, but within the lifetime of MY readers at least. Hmmm…

Oh yeah, I got it. It was Sen. John F’n Kerry back in ’04 as he tried to scam America into making him POTUS, “I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it,” SOURCE

Sen. Hutchison, hindsight is, as they say, 20/20. A HUGE majority of your constituents did everything they could to convince you, and Sen. Cornyn, to vote against the travesty that started the massive downhill slide our nation is on.

It was your vote, your actions, your support of this debacle, that gave the current inhabitant of the Oval Office the idea that he too could just give our money away. YOUR actions gave him the courage to stand against America in doing so.

The change comes on an issue that has dogged Hutchison for a year in her primary battle against Gov. Rick Perry. He has used the vote for the package to portray her as out of touch with Texas values and indulgent of massive federal spending. Perry’s campaign has constantly referred to Hutchison as “Kay Bailout” to make the point.

The next paragraph is the one that I feel will bring about the political death of either Rick Perry or Kay Bailey Hutchison.

But during the show, Hutchison was forceful in her criticism of Perry, saying that as chairman of the Republican Governors Association, he urged senators to support a bailout because he feared a financial meltdown. She used a letter that Perry co-wrote to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid as evidence that the governor wanted something done.

Where is that letter? Why is it not published along with this story? Is there anyone that has actually read the letter and interprets it’s content to be showing Rick Perry in support of the bailouts? OR, is this simply Hutchison’s perception of “the letter”?

I am personally convinced that *Bailout* suits Hutchison to a *T* regardless of the “letter” and it’s actual existence.

“Governor Perry was the first one out of the chute to send a letter to every senator saying vote for it, vote for it because we are going to look at a financial meltdown, and that’s what 70 senators did,” Hutchison said. “We didn’t know what was on the horizon and those who are in the know on this say that it would have been a financial meltdown of global proportions.”

Hutchison irks right by including gay judge as U.S. attorney pick

Hutchison irks right by including gay judge as U.S. attorney pick

WASHINGTON – Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison has sent the White House two suggestions for the post of U.S. attorney in San Antonio. One of the candidates is a highly regarded career prosecutor and judge who also, it turns out, is openly gay.

Some Republicans are vehemently and unapologetically not ready for that. That could make it even harder for Hutchison to woo social conservatives in her bid to outflank and oust Gov. Rick Perry in March.

Tim Lambert, president of the Texas Home School Coalition, a former member of the Republican National Committee – and, like nearly all prominent social conservatives in Texas who have picked sides, a Perry supporter – called the recommendation “very unusual and disturbing.”

“I suspect that a lot of Republican primary voters would find it interesting that Senator Hutchison would make that recommendation,” Lambert said.

Well how do you like that? Kay Bailey *I AM a Conservative and I want to govern Texas* Hutchison has endorsed a homosexual to be chief prosecutor in the Western District of Texas. Can anyone be more obviously out of touch with Texas, Conservatism and the reality of LIFE in the great state of Texas than Kay Bailout Hutchison?

Hutchison has been trying for a long time to piss off Conservatives in Texas. She has no interest in building a border fence; Hutchison on defensive over border fence, she earned the nickname *Bailout*; Congress OKs historic bailout bill, she supports a back door amnesty plan, Immigrant ‘Dream’ Act Fails Key Senate Vote and when it came time to defund Barack Hussein Obama’s bunch of lawbreaking thugs, ACORN, Sen. Kay *Bailout* Hutchison bails out on defunding ACORN.

Somehow, I am thinking that Hutchison needs to look up the definition of the word conservative, or maybe have one of her staffers look it up and then have a legal aid explain it to her. It is MY opinion that Kay Bailey Hutchison has absolutely NO idea what the word conservative, or the term conservative politics stands for.

It is also MY opinion that Kay Bailey Hutchison needs to be retired, permanently! And it’s not just her, it’s her partner in crime, John Cornyn, as well;

Last month, Hutchison and fellow GOP Sen. John Cornyn endorsed two applicants for chief prosecutor in the Western District of Texas, which includes Austin, San Antonio and El Paso: Robert Pitman, a U.S. magistrate in Austin, and San Antonio criminal defense lawyer Michael McCrum.

A bit further down in the story from Dallas Morning News it does go on to mention that Robert Pitman is the openly homosexual U.S. magistrate Hutchison has recommended.

Kay Bailey Hutchison is NOT what Texas needs, and she is about to get a lesson in Texas politics. She has been a U.S. Senator since 1993, and once upon a time, she was thought to be the greatest thing to ever come out of the state of Texas. But along the way, she changed. Her politics became those of a RINO, not a Conservative. She proved herself to be a Washington insider and that just doesn’t sit well with Texans. We expect our Senators and Congressmen to go to Washington and represent US, not some Washington insiders agenda!
