Lawmakers face angry crowds on health care

LEBANON, Pa. (AP) - Jeers and taunts drowned out Democrats calling for a health care overhaul at town halls Tuesday, and one lawmaker said a swastika was spray-painted at his office as debate turned to noisy confrontation over President Barack Obama’s plan. The president himself was treated more respectfully.

“You’ll be gone, by God the bureaucrats will still be here,” one man told Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pa., at a town hall in Lebanon, Pa.

“If they don’t let us vent our frustrations out, they will have a revolution,” Mary Ann Fieser of Hillsboro, Mo., told Sen. Claire McCaskill at her Missouri health care forum.

McCaskill admonished the rowdy crowd of some 1,500.

“I don’t understand this rudeness,” she said. “I honestly don’t get it.”

She doesn’t understand the rudeness? Well golly Sen. McCaskill, it’s called feeling threatened. The rudeness is a simple reaction. When a human being feels threatened, they tend to react. Sometimes they react with anger, sometimes with rudeness, sometimes by running and hiding, but you can count on this Senator, the body human WILL react.

And this ObamaKare Obamanure is a very threatening proposition to any American with an I.Q. that’s larger than their waist size.

Many Americans feel that they are being misrepresented, and in some cases, outright lied to by their elected officials in Congress and the Senate, especially the Senate. Thankfully, the congressional representatives from my part of Texas are nothing less than top shelf.

Our Senators, on the other hand, are both a couple of wild cards. Maybe Sen. Cornyn, a man that is assumed by some to be a Conservative, didn’t share this with you, but he was booed off a stage on July 4th, booed off by REAL Conservatives right here in Texas.

Must have been some of those Right Wing Radicals you guys are so afraid of.

I guess people like you would call that a manufactured outrage, that seems to be your new catch phrase, that and your buddy Harry Reid with his genius comment about Astro Turf as a way to insult real grassroots politics. You guys are creative in the phrase department, I must say.

Say, Sen. McCaskill, while I’m thinking about it, let me ask you this; WHY, if it’s a crowd of Dem Libbers protesting something, oh, I don’t know, for the sake of argument, let’s say ABORTION, why is it that their protests are called a true exhibition of patriotism and when Conservatives protest against the policies of one Barack Hussein Obama, we’re called Domestic Terrorists and a mob of unruly, and sore losers? Can you answer that one for me Senator? I’m sure that sheer hypocrisy has absolutely nothing to do with it huh? Surely not…

Did Sotomayor Lie to Senators?

July 16th, 2009 . by TexasFred

Did Sotomayor Lie to Senators?

Did Judge Sonia Sotomayor twist the truth when she met with Senators before her confirmation hearings began? Does anyone on the Judiciary Committee have the guts to call her on it?

“Is there anything the Senate or Congress can do if a nominee says one thing seated at that table and does something exactly the opposite once they [are on the Supreme Court]?” Senator Arlen Specter asked Judge Sonia Sotomayor on Wednesday. When Sotomayor promises her “fidelity” to the rule of law the Senators simply have to trust that she is telling them the truth. Unfortunately, there is significant evidence that Sotomayor has been less than honest in private meetings with the Senators.

This past Saturday, The Wall Street Journal reported on a series of interviews it had done with Senators about their private meetings with Sotomayor. Incredibly, every one of Sotomayor’s private statements to the Senators, as reported by The Journal, were not only false, but she should also have known that they were false when she made them. Each inaccurate statement to the Senators involved speeches the judge had given numerous times and that she had clearly reviewed before meeting with the members of the Judiciary Committee.

For instance, shortly after Sotomayor’s nomination, her now infamous Berkeley law school speech began to receive public scrutiny. Understandably, many Senators asked her about her statement that: “a wise Latina woman with the richness of his experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white man.”

Sotomayor apparently told Republican Senators in private meetings that those words were “inadvertent” and “inartful,” — implying that her statement was an accident. President Obama himself tried to explain this statement as just a one-time utterance that she would have worded differently if she had the chance to do it all over again.

But after these private meetings with Senators it was revealed that Sotomayor had used the equivalent phrases during at least seven different speeches over a period of a decade. It is one thing for Obama to explain this as an accidental, single occurrence; it is something quite different for Sotomayor, especially now that we know that she repeatedly made such statements.

But have her statements to Democrats been any more accurate than those to Republicans?

This line speaks volumes; But have her statements to Democrats been any more accurate than those to Republicans?

I have said this before, and it bears repeating, Sonia Sotomayor is a racist, a sexist, an anti Second Amendment, pro abortion, liberal automaton that toes the liberal line perfectly. Those are MY beliefs and there is NOTHING that she can do or say to convince me otherwise!

FOXNews and John Lott have done a great bit of work here, Sotomayor has been thoroughly and completely exposed for exactly what she is. Sotomayor has a reputation for being a fiery, hot blooded Type-A personality on the bench and is known for speaking her mind. Even when there wasn’t a thought to be had.

What the American public, and the Senators sitting on this panel saw, was a well coached stooge that is doing exactly as she was told to do. Be subdued, never show any emotion, especially anger. She was playing a part in a play that is going to shape the direction this nation travels for many years. It is NOT a good direction of travel.

Veteran GOP Sen. Specter switches parties

April 28th, 2009 . by TexasFred

Veteran GOP Sen. Specter switches parties

WASHINGTON - Veteran Republican Sen. Arlen Specter announced plans Tuesday to switch parties, a move that will push Democrats closer to total control of the U.S. Senate.

Specter’s switch is a huge boost for President Barack Obama as he tries to advance his agenda on energy policy, health care reform and other issues.

With 60 votes in the 100-seat chamber, Obama’s fellow Democrats could stop Republican filibusters — stalling tactics used to delay or defeat legislation.

Specter would give Democrats at least 59 Senate seats. There is one vacancy from Minnesota, where Democrat Al Franken holds a narrow lead in a race still being disputed in the courts.

What’s the big deal?? The MSM is nearly orgasmic. It’s the end of the world! Specter is going over to the Dems. So? He’s been with the Dems for a long time now.

This is NO loss and is NO surprise, now if John McCain would go ahead and join his Dem buddies. McCain and Specter, RINOs at their very best. Why be Dem-Lite when you can be a full blown, socialist supporting Democrat??

This USA of ours in a bad shape. A lot of it is the fault of the Dems, a lot of it is the fault of the Republicans. This defection is a prime example. Specter is putting his career ahead of this nation. He is NOT switching over party ideologies, he is switching because he feels he can keep his job if he runs as a Dem. A job he has held for 29 years now.

That length of Senatorial service also brings up a serious need for TERM LIMITS. Specter has been in the Senate for 29 years. Enough is enough! The Senate and Congress are not career positions, at least, they shouldn’t be career positions. Any man or woman that spends decades in those hallowed halls is totally out of touch with the realities of life faced by the average American citizen.

America is in a dangerous position. There are no discernable differences in the political parties running this nation. Other than their given names, it’s often impossible to identify the players without a game card. We have 2 U.S. Senators from Texas that have an (R) behind their names, that (R) stands for RINO. Our U.S. Senators voted FOR the socialization of America, they both voted FOR the 1st bailout, doing so against the express wishes of their constituents.

One of those Senators, Kay Bailey Hutchison, is retiring from the Senate to come home and run for Texas Governor. Many of us here in Texas are planning on making sure that Hutchison enjoys a nice, quiet retirement, OUT of public office. There is a great candidate vying for the Hutchison seat, Michael Williams, and hopefully, when John Cornyn comes up for reelection again in 2014, we can replace his RINO/Socialist self with a REAL Conservative! If there’s still a USA worth working with that is!

I am hoping the American people send a message to D.C. in 2010, and again in 2012, but NOT by sending more RINOs! We need real Conservatives serving this nation, in local, state and federal positions, not Repubs, not RINOs and not Dem hacks, we need Conservative American patriots!

I can’t get a lot done in YOUR particular state, that part is up to you. These U.S. Congress and Senate debacles are STATES issues, and it’s up to the residents OF the individual states to run these disgusting pieces of excrement out of office, Dems, Repubs, RINOs, whatever the name. Run them OUT!

Find, support and vote for REAL Conservatives! Urge those that you know to be REAL Conservatives and patriots to run for elected office, and if they do, and if they happen to get elected, hold their feet to the fire. Force them to walk the line. If they don’t serve the purpose during their 1st term, fire them and start over. If they want to hover in place for several decades and make a career of doing nothing other than warming a seat, or if they only seek to serve their own devices, fire them and place more motivated folks in office. Elected officials need to move UP or out! It’s that simple.

Senate passes $838 billion stimulus

February 10th, 2009 . by TexasFred

Democratic leaders vow to deliver legislation to president within days

President Barack Obama’s economic recovery plan has passed the Senate and is on its way to difficult House-Senate negotiations.

Just three Republicans helped pass the plan on a 61-37 vote and they’re already signaling they’ll play hardball to preserve more than $108 billion in spending cuts made last week in Senate dealmaking. Obama wants to restore cuts in funds for school construction jobs and help for cash-starved states.

Those cuts are among the major differences between the $819 billion House version of Obama’s plan and a Senate bill costing $838 billion. Obama has warned of a deepening economic crisis if Congress fails to act. He wants a bill completed by the weekend.

The bill backed by the White House survived a key test vote in the Senate Monday despite strong Republican opposition, and Democratic leaders vowed to deliver legislation for President Barack Obama’s signature within a few days.

Senate passes $838 billion stimulus

Any so-called Republican, let me repeat that, ANY SO-CALLED REPUBLICAN that voted FOR this bill needs to be removed from office and forced to change their political affiliation. They are NOT Republicans, they are nothing more than RINOs, Republicans In Name Only! RINO Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania broke ranks to cast their votes to advance the bill. To the people of Maine and Pennsylvania I say this, they are YOUR Senators, it is up to YOU to do something about that. I would suggest forcing them join the ranks of the unemployed as soon as is possible.

We had a few doubts at times as to whether our Senators from Texas were going to hold ranks and vote against this travesty, I am proud to say they have done so.

Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX): “At a time when American families and businesses are facing economic hardship, any ‘stimulus’ should target job creation and keeping people in their homes. This 778 page legislation that we’re looking at would cost the American people about $1 billion per page. And it’s wrongly focused on spending programs that will not effectively create jobs. I believe that the best way to jumpstart our economy is through targeted tax cuts that quickly put money back in the hands of America’s families and small businesses. These tax cuts should work in concert with a limited spending program that emphasizes projects our government is going to do anyway, moving forward military construction, infrastructure and transportation improvements which will spur job growth for Americans and for Texans in our own communities. If we could come together to do this, I think we could make this country turn around and start going in the right direction. It would be a bipartisan effort rather than what we are looking at, which is a job that I think was not put together in a bipartisan way but instead was a bill that was put on the floor with no ability to amend it with any kind of strategy or focus. I hope we can do better. The people of American certainly deserve it.”

Hutchison said it pretty well I believe. The Dems have a majority now, they are using that majority, and the traitors of the Republican party, to push through ANY bill that they feel is going to be good for their *pork filled* wallets!

If it’s not already too late, Americans may want to rethink this Democrat/Republican thing. Some of us have been preaching as hard as we can concerning the need of a NEW political party, a REAL and CONSERVATIVE party. A party that is strictly an America 1st party in ALL aspects of government and patriotism. The Democrats as a whole, and a lot of Republicans as well, have completely lost sight and ALL understanding of what it means to be a CONSERVATIVE. If this nation doesn’t return to true Conservatism, and soon, it will be too late and America will lie in ruin.
