Arizona beheading raises fears of drug violence

CHANDLER, Ariz. (AP) - The gruesome case of a man who was stabbed and beheaded in a suburban Phoenix apartment has police investigating whether the killing is potentially the most extreme example of Mexican drug cartel violence spilling over the border.

Martin Alejandro Cota-Monroy’s body was found Oct. 10 in a Chandler apartment - his severed head a couple feet away. One man suspected in the killing has been arrested, and a manhunt is under way for three others.

Detectives are focused on whether the men belong to a Mexican drug cartel, and they suspect that Cota-Monroy’s killing was punishment for stealing drugs. The brutal nature of the killing could be designed to send a message to others within the cartel.

“If it does turn out to be a drug cartel out of Mexico, typically that’s a message being sent,” said Chandler police Detective David Ramer. “This person was chosen to be executed. It sends a message to other people: If you cross us, this is what happens.”

Arizona beheading raises fears of drug violence

Last night our local TEA Party met and we were asked to be thinking of the things we want most to impress upon our incoming lawmakers once the new Congress and Senate are seated.

Living in Texas, and it being a border state that is already inundated with ILLEGAL Hispanics, I am thinking that my biggest push for Washington will be border security, or lack there of, no amnesty in ANY way and the deportation of all ILLEGALS.

We already KNOW that Mexico is over-run by narco-terrorists, all you have to do is look at the news every day. Murders, beheadings, innocent people killed by the drug cartels for sometimes no other reason than simply refusing to work for the cartels.

Stories like these are becoming an almost daily occurrence: 15 Killed in Mexican Car Wash Massacre and this: A Mexico massacre in unfamiliar place: the capital

We KNOW that Mexican troops have crossed our borders, thus committing an INVASION against the sovereign borders of the USA and it’s citizens.

MINUTEMEN RELEASE VIDEO OF MEXICAN ARMY INCURSION OF U.S. BORDER

Yet these incursions, INVASIONS, have yet to be met with military force, by Obama or his less than impressive predecessor, G.W. Bush. Our borders are still basically WIDE OPEN.

The Virtual border fence a $1 billion failure, and I would venture to say, that $1 BILLION price tag is probably a low-ball estimate.

Our nation is in great peril, this is the HOT story on the news networks as I write this post, Explosive found in Dubai, part of US terror. There are those that seek to attack us from all points of the compass.

Decapitations are a regular part of the drug war in Mexico as cartels fight over territory. Headless bodies have been hanged from bridges by their feet, severed heads have been sent to victims’ family members and government officials, and bags of up to 12 heads have been dropped off in high-profile locations.

More than 28,000 people have been killed in Mexico in drug-related violence since December 2006, when President Felipe Calderon deployed soldiers to battle the cartels in their strongholds.

That could very soon be the regular news story in the USA.

If the suspects in the Arizona case belong to a cartel, the crime could be the only known beheading in the U.S. carried out by a drug cartel, said Tony Payan, a political science professor at the University of Texas at El Paso who has done extensive research about border violence.

IF is one of the biggest words we use. IF the suspects are cartel members, IF the suspects are captured, IF the suspects are prosecuted, IF the suspects are still in the United States. That’s a lot of IF’s in my opinion.

“The cartels warring in Mexico have operatives in Phoenix, and it is possible they may go after each other in places like that,” he said, but added that cartels are very unlikely to target the general American population. “Our law enforcement agencies and intelligence agencies have shown a high degree of competence. In Mexico, they’re nowhere near that level.”

The cartels have operatives in ALL major American cities. Take that to the bank. As to the high degree of competence regarding OUR law enforcement agencies, yes, we have highly motivated individuals in law enforcement, but the administration of Hussein Obama has tied their hands with political correctness. The idea that we can’t defend OUR borders and that we must NEVER offend the enemies that seek to kill us and take this nation over are as dangerous to Americans citizens as are the cartels and terrorists themselves.

The enemy within, protected by the powers that be.

Fred, you were on the bulls eye on each and every point. The question that keeps coming up in my mind is… where did the Mexican cartels get the idea of beheading? I think those who have implied that the Cartels have taken to aiding Muslims in recent years might explain it. I am merely venturing a guess, but the days of finding bodies with bullet holes seems to have passed with these criminal scumbags in Mexico. What are your thoughts on that?

Our weak President only serves to embolden our enemies all over the world. I can’t wait to see him out of office.

As usual Fred you’re right on but what makes me, and many others, wonder just what the hell WILL take place with a new POTUS. I read a lot about potential candidates and I have yet to listen or read about anybody that really, I mean REALLY, comes right out and says I’m going to shut that border down so tight, light’d have trouble getting through. All “57″ states would adopt Arizona’ s immigration laws and there would be three armored divisions deployed on Jan 21rst to the border that would take care of the cartels that wanted to try their luck.

I am so sick of this administration, as well as Bush’s, and their PC that it makes me ill.

Back in September, Gov Brewer made a statement about beheadings’ and then backtracked on it. As it turns out, she should have never backtracked.

You’re right about they’re worried about explosives in Dubai while we’ve got a powder keg sitting right on our border ready to go off. These cartels do concern me. No matter what we think of the Mexican military, these cartels aren’t scared to take them on and in many cases, beat them pretty badly. They’re heavily armed and it’s not coming from gun shows in the US. The cartels are here and their operatives in the Mexican military have already crossed into the US unimpeded. We need armed troops on the boarder with AWACS, attack helicopters, and predator drones on patrol.

Why is it we can secure the 38th Parallel in Korea but not our own Southern Boarder?

It is well beyond time for us to close our borders and protect our CITIZENS! How many more people have to die at the hands of the drug lords before our government will make the commitment to protect our citizens. It is disgraceful that our president is more worried about offending other nations than he is about protecting our citizens!

The politicians would rather try and talk the cartels to death than doing what probably should be done, which is to send a brigade from the 101st AB down to clean the drug rat’s nests out & secure the damn border. As far as the Dubai explosives, anybody find it interesting that a) it happens on the Friday before the elections, and b) that nothing actually detonated? I don’t think that even the O-Ring has the stones to try a false flag op, but the timing is kind of curious.

Fred your right on with your post but you and everyone here knows that while Obama is POTUS nothing will be done to secure the border, stop the drug cartels or curb illegals crossing into this country. To curb this probplem the border states need to show some balls and shut things down themselves. If not we’ll have a bunch of vigilantes roamining the border and things could get ugly fast. Enough is enough.

Not securing our borders is a death sentence for America has a nation.

But don’t expect many politicians to do a damn thing about our porous borders. Politicians think their ivory towers will protect them. And those ivory towers WILL be sanctuaries — for a time. But not forever.

When a politician’s child is beheaded, then politicians will wake the hell up. But not before then.

How long have we been saying these things about the border? When the hell will we actually elect someone with the balls to get the job done that needs to be done..?

Secession is looking better and better every day.

“The enemy within, protected by the powers that be.”

    That is quite correct.

Said it before, I’ll write it again: we have not suffered sufficiently in this country, to have our philosophies changed. We are still too naive and too arrogant and too trusting and too left-leaning. We, by necessity, will have to have any number of additional Americans killed before we realize what a threat are our open borders.
