As drug violence escalates, Americans in Mexico warned

WASHINGTON (AP) — Mexican drug cartels are shipping more than massive quantities of drugs north of the border. Increasingly, they’re also exporting bloody mayhem.

Seeking to stem the growing influence of the Sinaloa cartel within the United States, federal agents arrested more than 50 suspects in raids Tuesday night and Wednesday morning at different ends of the country. The raids capped a 21-month operation by the Drug Enforcement Administration that rounded up 755 suspects and seized more than $59 million in criminal proceeds.

“These cartels will be destroyed,” Attorney General Eric Holder said Wednesday at a press conference announcing the arrests.

The overnight roundup by DEA and state and local police included arrests in California, Minnesota and the Maryland suburbs of Washington.

Holder called the cartels a threat to national security, adding, “They are lucrative, they are violent, and they are operated with stunning planning and precision.”

I applaud these officers for their time and efforts. Seriously, I do. They took some scumbags off of the street, some 755 suspects and they seized more than $59 million in criminal proceeds. Folks, this isn’t even a drop in the bucket.

The new AG, Eric Holder, is strutting like a proud peacock too, you would almost think his guys were the ones that put all of this together. According to the story, this investigation has been an ongoing effort for the last 21 months. If my math is correct, Holder has been AG for about a month, that makes him some 20 odd months OUT of the equation. But he’s really trying to make himself look relevant in this operation, like HE personally accomplished this.

The attorney general also suggested that re-instituting a U.S. ban on the sale of assault weapons would help reduce the bloodshed in Mexico, where last year 6,000 people were killed in drug-related violence.

I told my readers, several weeks ago, Eric Holder was being brought in to play the ‘heavy‘ for the Obama administration in their efforts to take as many guns out of the hands of honest Americans as possible. Obama will be able to execute HIS plans to disarm this nation and then smile as he says, ‘But I didn’t do it America, AG Holder did, and he did it to protect you and me and this nation.’, and I am telling ALL of you, right here and now, IT WILL HAPPEN!

I posted here DO NOT Confirm Eric Holder and here Senate confirms Holder as first black AG concerning Holder and his desire to become the most aggressive and successful anti-gun person this nation has ever known. Holder is using the violence in Mexico as an excuse to reinstate the *assault weapons ban*, and it’s a very lame attempt. AK-47′s are his primary target in this recent effort. Oh sure, he includes other guns in his tirades but this one is directed at AK’s it appears.

U.S. officials have a responsibility to make sure Mexican police “are not fighting substantial numbers of weapons, or fighting against AK-47s or other similar kinds of weapons that have been flowing to Mexico,” Holder said.

What Holder doesn’t realize it appears is this, the AK’s that are on our streets and on the streets of Mexico will not be affected by a renewal of the *assault weapons ban*. The AG can institute all the *bans* he wants, these bans will not lessen the number of military type weapons on our streets by so much as 1 rifle!

Eric Holder is the most STUPID individual I have ever seen. The AK’s that Mexican army troops and police are facing didn’t come from the USA, they are pouring in from overseas arms dealers, from black market dealers in Europe, Central and South America and other locations. The AK is manufactured in China, N. Korea, Russia and several former Soviet satellite - Eastern Bloc countries, and can be bought, in LARGE numbers, very cheaply, through DIRECT sources. And in a FULL AUTO configuration.

Get ready America, if the Obama administration, and their new *yard dog*, Eric Holder have their way, WE will be unarmed using the premise that Americans are supplying the guns to drug dealers and once that happens there will be an explosion of violence in this nation the likes of which we have never seen.

And there won’t be one damned thing that We, The People can do other than watch. If we let Holder disarm us that is…

Have gun, will receive gift card at Dallas buy-back event

Have gun, will receive gift card at Dallas buy-back event

Your gun for groceries.

That’s the goal of a gun buyback from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Reunion Arena, during which each unloaded, operational firearm surrendered will fetch a $50 Kroger grocery gift card.

People trading in their guns must present identification, city officials say.

“It would be a failure on our part if we do not take an initiative,” said Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway, who is helping lead the effort.

Event sponsors include Dallas Police, KBFB-FM 97.9 “The Beat,” and KSOC-FM 94.5, One-Dallas, Univision 23, Schepps Dairy and Better Dallas Safer Dallas.

Dallas is not using public money to purchase the gift cards, which Kroger is providing at a 30 percent discount to event sponsors, Dallas spokesman Frank Librio said.

Meanwhile, Dallas writer and gun rights advocate Trey Garrison says he may conduct an alternative gun buyback of his own — with better prices for sellers. He says he’ll pay in cash, too.

How much might Garrison spend?

“Depends on what the hardware is,” he tells us.

Dallas/Kroger $50 Gun Buy Back

This may not really be a 2A issue but I have to say, it is, in MY opinion, one of the more stupid attempts at taking guns off of the streets.

You see, personally, I have NO problem with a bit of *infringement*, if it’s strictly against the gangsters, crack heads, pimps, whores and other KNOWN bad guys, MS-13 members and all those similar, bad guys by definition being those listed just previous, and any of their cohorts. Therein lies the problem, the possibility of misapplication.

I’m pretty sure there will be those that say I’m NOT a full supporter of the 2A because of that opinion, and to those that would think I’m not, let me ask you this, how many of you wonderful CHL holders are active, former or retired law officers? How many of you have ever gone up against these guys? I mean in up close, personal combat? How many of you have ever been in a real gun fight? How many of you have ever had to fire on a target that was firing back? Just sayin’…

I hear a lot of passionate rhetoric concerning the 2A from those that have never done anything other than *punch paper*. I hear all the reasoning that justifies the 2A being fully applicable to ALL. It is my full belief that the ‘Framers’ had absolutely no concept of what is faced by our law enforcement personnel every day. There is nothing wrong with the 2A, not by any means, but their has to be some infringement on certain groups of people or the rest of us will suffer the loss OF the 2A and all that it entails. The 2A can’t be interpreted as carte blanche for every person that just happens to be standing on U.S. soil to have a gun, or guns!

Here’s where I piss off the BATF, those wonderful guys that are charged with making sure that my deer rifle isn’t secretly an assault weapon. The BATF goes after the average, legal, gun owning American simply because WE are easy targets. They are fairly certain that most of us won’t open fire on them. It’s far too dangerous for them to go after the drug gangs, the MS-13′s of this world. And it is those people, the ones that the BATF and others won’t take on, that make the average gun owner of this United States a potential criminal.

But lets face it, what kind of guns do you suppose this $50 buy back is going to garner? Even the crooks aren’t that desperate. If they were, they could sell those guns on the street for a hell of a lot more than $50. They’re crooks, that doesn’t necessarily equate to *stupid*. In many cases it is, but not always.

And just out of curiosity, how many MS-13 members do you suppose will line up to turn in their hardware? Yeah, that’s about how many I figure will be there too.

Jindal: GOP must return to fiscal discipline

Jindal: GOP must return to fiscal discipline

WASHINGTON — Republicans responded to President Obama’s first address to Congress on Tuesday by vowing to work with the White House while also holding fast to principles of limited government and fiscal discipline.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, who delivered the Republican response to Obama’s speech from the governor’s mansion in Baton Rouge, called on his party to return to core values and object to massive government spending intended to boost the economy.

“Democratic leaders say their legislation will grow the economy. What it will do is grow the government, increase our taxes down the line and saddle future generations with debt,” Jindal said, according to excerpts released by his office before the speech. “It’s irresponsible.”

Jindal, 37, was elected in 2007 and is one of a crop of Republicans whose star power has risen since the 2008 election. He recently gained attention for refusing millions of dollars in unemployment assistance bound for his state in Obama’s $787 billion stimulus plan.

Jindal: GOP must return to fiscal discipline

I heard quite a bit of criticism regarding the Jindal response. The substance OF the response was great. Admittedly the delivery was not the best I have ever seen from Bobby Jindal. But you have to remember this, he was not speaking to Republicans and Conservatives only, he was speaking to the nation, the Dems, the hard core libbers, the pro-abortion nuts, the anti-guns cabal, all the assorted moonbats. He had to keep it relatively sedate, otherwise, he would have gone so far over their heads it would have been ridiculous.

Lets face it, tonight was NOT Jindal’s best effort at speech making, far from it, but he was head and shoulders above George Bush on GWB’s best day!

Jindal says that the GOP must return to fiscal discipline and I fully agree with that statement. The GOP has to return to REAL Conservatism, that is what made the Republican party so great for so long. The GOP must oust ALL of the RINOs from their ranks, otherwise it’s just more of the same old thing.

What the GOP can’t do is present candidates that divide their party even farther than it already is. They can’t force a candidate like John McCain on this nation and tell us that HE is the best they have to offer. If that’s true, then the GOP is beyond repair. John McCain was one of the worst choices the GOP could have made. The choice of McCain is as much responsible for the Obama victory as anything or anyone out there.

McCain was viewed by Conservatives as an angry old man that was a lot closer to the Dems than he ever was to the GOP. McCain was viewed by many in the GOP as just another version of George Bush. Those 2 factors alone were more than enough reason for some to vote Obama and for some to vote for a 3rd party candidate.

Those are the reasons Barack Obama is president. It’s not because Obama is rich and powerful, he’s not anything special as things in general go, he was different and unique and he wasn’t Bush or McCain. That is what lost this last election and the GOP is by God responsible for that loss, 100% responsible!

Bobby Jindal says he doesn’t want to run for POTUS in 2012, but he should. Jindal says Louisiana needs him, and that is the truth if ever the truth was spoken. Louisiana has long had the reputation of being ultimately corrupt and Jindal is working as hard as anyone ever worked to rectify that situation and dispel the stench that hangs over Louisiana politics.

The USA needs Jindal too, and many more just like him. Young men and women, energetic, Conservative and not corrupted by the temptations of *old school politics*. America needs men like Bobby Jindal and we need them now more than ever before. If we survive the next 4 years under Obama, these words will ring even more true in the ears of all America!
